Following a friend’s recommendation, I visited Beppu for the first time in my life, stepping away from Yufuin.
Out of the three hot spring accommodations I visited, Beppu Suginoi Hotel left the most impressive mark, so i decided to leave review here.
Beppu Suginoi Hotel Location
In Beppu, it’s one of the top spots.
Think of it as the ultimate family hot spring destination, situated on a large resort area that is rare to find in Japan.
Imagine a resort three or four times the size of a regular hot spring resort. Located on a hill south of Beppu Station, the hotel offers a stunning view!
Given its size, there’s a continuous purple shuttle bus that runs between Beppu Station and Suginoi Hotel. Make sure to check the timetable to plan your bus rides.
Beppu Suginoi Hotel Check-in/Check-out
- Check-in time: 3:00 PM
- Check-out time: 11:00 AM
The hotel has three main wings: Nijikan and Nakakan, which were built first, and the most popular and recently constructed Sorakan.
In Japanese, “Sorakan,” means “Sky Wing”.
From the moment you enter into the lobby, its grandeur is evident! The interior is even more impressive than the exterior.
Check-in is self-service, and there’s a wide variety of amenities you can take to your room yourself.
Beppu Suginoi Hotel Deluxe Room
We booked a twin bed room, and upon entering, we were amazed by the spaciousness—so much so that we couldn’t tell if we were still in Japan or had somehow arrived in Vinpearl resort in Vietnam!
The room was incredibly large.
The area around the beds had a luxurious marble-patterned rug, while the rest of the space featured wooden flooring, adding to the upscale feel.
The room was big enough to accommodate a large family comfortably and offered a panoramic view of the entire Beppu city
The couch was so spacious that two people could easily lie down and relax on it.
The bathroom was also very large, and what we loved most was the separate areas for the shower, bathtub, and toilet, making it highly functional for families.
The amenities had a wonderful fragrance, and the closet contained beautiful blue yukatas. We took lots of photos while walking around the spacious beautiful properties.
Beppu Suginoi Hotel Water Park and Onsen
Beppu Suginoi Hotel has a water park, but unfortunately, it’s only open during the summer, so we couldn’t use it this time.
My child was especially disappointed, so we promised to come back during the summer next time!
However, we did enjoy the Aqua Garden, which was open.
We had a great time playing in the heated pool, and in the evening, there was a fountain show every hour or so, which was a lot of fun.
Beppu Suginoi Hotel Onsen
The most popular onsen was ‘Sora-yu,’ a large bath exclusively for Sorakan staying guests.
It was crowded because it’s most popular on the property, especially with its unique rooftop open-air bath offering an EPIC VIEW.
There’s also another large bath called ‘Tanayu,’ and you can book a private bath, each of which is luxurious and satisfying.
The hotel also has spaces for bowling, billiards, darts, and a souvenir shop.
There’s so much to do that one night is definitely not enough.
This is a place where you should stay at least two nights to fully enjoy and relax, though even that might feel too short!
Beppu Suginoi Hotel Breakfast Experience
For breakfast, there are two buffet restaurants: “Terrace & Dining” in Sorakan wing and “Ceda Palace.”
I heard i can choose your breakfast location when you make your reservation, but from what I found, it’s best to decide during the reservation as changes might not be possible upon check-in.
“Ceda Palace” is said to have a more casual vibe, but based on reviews from other Korean tourists, “Terrace & Dining” seemed to have higher satisfaction rates.
So, we chose “Terrace & Dining” for our family and were very pleased with our choice!
The menu was incredibly diverse!
We wanted to try everything, but our limited stomach capacity was the only downside.
There were sashimi, sushi, omelets, steaks, and much more—we were absolutely overwhelmed.
I hope your trip to Beppu in Fukuoka, Japan, with Beppu Suginoi Hotel, will be an unforgettable experience!
