Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort Breakfast Deep Pool Deluxe Review

Whenever I visit Thailand, there’s one place I never miss.
From restaurants and tourist spots, everything makes each visit special, and the accommodation is no exception.
One place that never fails to captivate me with its beautiful traditional Thai charm is the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort.

Location of Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort

The resort is located away from Bangkok’s BTS subway lines and the bustling areas of Khao San Road and Sukhumvit Road.
However, it’s amazing to note that despite this, it is consistently ranked as the number one preferred resort by both Western and Asian visitors in Bangkok.

Bangkok is not a very large city if you look at its central area, so I recommend simply grabbing a GRAB from the airport to the resort.
Don’t worry about the lack of convenience stores near the resort; there is a 7-Eleven located right across the street at the Avani Hotel’s ground floor.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Check-in/Check-out

  • Check-in time: 3:00 PM
  • Check-out time: 12:00 PM

The lobby at Anantara Riverside Bangkok truly lives up to the brand name!
Although it has a bit of an old-fashioned look, no other hotel lobby in Bangkok can match its landscape design.

The cozy couches and multiple lounge areas between sunlit open terraces are just perfect.
The lush plantation-style interior is top-notch.
Soft music plays in the background, and the luxurious fragrance that fills the entire lobby is simply exquisite.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Double Room

The room had a huge king-size bed with towels artfully folded into elephant shapes in the center.
Since it was a Wing side room, the layout was a bit unique.
As expected from a five-star traditional resort, the interior was very clean—no bugs at all, and the wooden flooring meant no dust issues.

We were upgraded to a Deluxe room with a Half River View, which was fantastic.
The room also had a capsule coffee machine, so I enjoyed plenty of coffee whilst staying in the resort.
The amenities were very neatly arranged, including lotion, shampoo, shower gel, and facial soap, all with a pleasant fragrance.

The bathroom, although not ultra-modern, was incredibly spacious, which was a big plus.
The bathtub was large enough for a relaxing soak, and there was also a rain shower system with excellent water pressure.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Kids Club

The Kids Club was quite underwhelming compared to our expectations.
We spent about an hour there while waiting for check-in. However, the staff were very friendly, and my little boy had fun drawing and riding toy cars with other kids.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Shuttle Boat

There is a shuttle boat line along the Chao Phraya River that takes about 20 minutes to reach the ICONSIAM mall pier.
Before that, it stops at the Saphan Taksin boat station, the main hub for river boats.
The shuttle runs approximately once an hour and the boat ride itself is very enjoyable.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Swimming Pool

The swimming pool at Anantara Riverside Bangkok is practically a gem in the realm of Bangkok’s pool scenes—maybe even deserving to be mentioned as a diamond?
At least for someone like me who enjoys swimming or free diving, the pool at Anantara Riverside is the ultimate gift.

The pool area includes a kids’ play pool where children can frolic freely, and the main pool itself is incredibly spacious.
Surrounding sun loungers give off a vibe reminiscent of Hawaii, with sunbathers enjoying the daylight.

Seemingly just an ordinary pool, you might think?
Oh no, you’re mistaken! Once you put on goggles and peer underwater, you’ll discover something extraordinary.
It’s not a typical shallow 1.4 or 1.6 meters (where your feet can touch the bottom) pool.
It’s a pool that ranges from 2 to 3 meters deep, where even adults can’t touch the bottom with their toes.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Breakfast

We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant with an elephant theme on the first floor.
At night, this place transforms into a seafood buffet banquet hall.
The space is incredibly vast with high ceilings.

There’s an outdoor area where you can dine while overlooking the Chao Phraya River, and the indoor space is also quite spacious.
It was so crowded that the expansive area was filled to the brim.
The menu is truly extensive, ranging from BBQ to Japanese, Indian, Halal food, sushi, curry, Thai noodles, omelets, and more—basically, everything I know about food was available. It was amazing.

In conclusion, I wrap up my review of Anantara, which, with its long tradition and outstanding facilities like breakfast and swimming pool, definitely deserves its place at the top of Bangkok accommodations.
